Trolling tuesday - Craigslist

Having undertaken massive renovations in 2018, I've become crazy handy. I love a good furniture rehab/reenvisioning, so I've decided to share some of my favorite second hand finds! My plan is to do this once a month, on a Tuesday. Denver homes are in need of a lot of updating and it makes the intrawebz a tremendous backyard for sweet furniture finds, even if they're in need of some TLC. Digging through pages and pages of horrendous office furniture castoffs, chunky wood bed frames carved with baby angels, I'm excited to share a handful of my favorite occasional gems.
1. Mid-Century Modern Bookcase - $1,200
OK, I’m OBSESSED with this MCM Bookcase from the Declaration series by Drexel. It isn't cheap but it's very cool.
I’m into the minimalism and love that it’s off the floor and has lots of storage. It has such beautifully sculpted lines and features a sleek and sculptural exo-skeletal frame and two adjustable shelves. It’s a relatively rare piece from the line and would make a great addition to any mid century modern collection. It’s in its original finish and appears to be in excellent vintage condition with only minor age related wear.

2. Army Green Metal Index Cabinet Pair - $299 each

While my design eye is generally relatively traditional, I’m definitely guilty of including industrial pieces which I think brings about a very eclectic aspect to the home. These cabinets can hold some weight and would be wonderful storage for crafts and sewing supplies. They’re a little pricey, but not really for what you’re getting. Plus these seem sturdy… pieces you’ll likely have a very long time. $299 per cabinet is far better than you’d ever be able to score at full retail.

3. Mid Century Modern Side Table - $50

This is a really fun table with unique lines. I love the stain color and how the glass top allows you to view the shelf below it. It's such a great way to display decor items, such as books with greenery or brass accent knick knacks. The price is also SO right, so right I wouldn’t even argue about it.

4. Geometric Campaign Dressers - $1,400
The set features a basket weave pattern in white and dark  emerald green body that also allows the teak to shine through. The brass corners are a timeless classic and would be beautiful in an eclectic boho home.

5. Vintage Reclaimed Sewing Table Turned Bathroom Vanity - $500
Great price, great piece! This is a vintage tredal sewing machine table that was used once upon a time to carefully mend and create clothing and other homemade goods. I absolutely love the hand carved scallop design in the wood and it's decorative cast iron base. It's since been converted into a bathroom vanity, a major stylish accent piece! I'd feel real cool telling my friends I sourced this on Craigslist, and you really can't beat the price!

6. Pyra Mango Wood Trunk - $200
Mango wood is strong, dense, attractive and  durable. The fascinating texture of mango gives this wood a special kind of appeal, with colors ranging from dark tones to light brown, sometimes with a hint of pink. As with many other types of woods, Mango wood will slowly darken with age. Priced originally at $450, this is a great bargain buy for a guest bedroom or storage for a playroom.

7. Mid-Century Modern Walnut Slat Bench - $130
This bench is so much fun! I think it's priced a little high considering it needs some stain touch ups, but this would be an awesome addition to an MCM collection!

8. French Provincial Queen Headboard & Footboard - $150
I love this headboard! Best part? No rehabbing required! It's been recently chalk painted with Annie Sloan's Graphite and sealed with a clear coat of wax to bring out the detail. It's totally ready for you to install. Insider tip - I happen to know the seller is willing to come down on the price!

And there you go. My very first 2019 version of Trolling Tuesday. Have a great week and let us know if you buy anything… Oh, and if you do, when you get it home and have it all set up how you like, please do post a photo on Instagram with the #KBfinds hashtag… I wanna see!
